Miikka Keronen, USPTA 

Director of Tennis

BIO

Miikka Keronen  started at the Ranch in November of 2007.  He is the former Head Tennis Professional at the Boulder Country Club.  Miikka received  All-American honors while playing for Azusa Pacific University and he has been one of the top Open players in Colorado for the past 10 years.  He was named 2004 USPTA Intermountain Open player of the year.

Miikka is a USPTA P-1 professional.  His teaching philosophy is 3 E’s - Entertainment, Exercise and Education.  Miikka was selected as the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 High School coach of the Year for the Northern Conference.  He has worked with several nationally ranked juniors and helped many of them receive College scholarships to several top universities.  Before moving to the USA Miikka worked in the Finnish National Sports Institute where he coached many top ranked Finnish juniors.  He still enjoys playing tournaments and working on his own game.

Miikka loves spending time with his wife Kristen and their two children Samuel and Sofia.  He is also a huge Avalanche fan.  COURTS

 

 

Nora Harrison

Adult League Coordinator
 

WELCOME NORA!!!!!


Nora Harrison comes to the Ranch from Boulder Country Club where she was the Adult League Coordinator and Staff Pro for the past 8 ½ years. Nora is a native of Singapore where she was the top junior and adult player, and represented her country in both the Southeast Asian Games and the Federation Cup.

Nora came to the United States with a full tennis scholarship and finished her NJCAA seasons at McLennan Community College with the team ranked in the top 15 in the nation. Nora graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor’s degree in Health & Physical Education and finished her college tennis career with the women’s team ranked #6 in the nation in NAIA and individually ranked #15 in women’s doubles in 1989.

Nora was a USPTR certified instructor and has been teaching tennis for the last 26 years. She moved to Colorado in 1992 and was the Tennis Director at the Flatiron Athletic Club in 1995 before joining Boulder Country Club in 2001. Nora is the assistant coach for both the Boy’s & Girls’ tennis teams at Niwot High School, which was recognized and awarded the High School of the Year (for Girl’s Tennis) at the recent CYTF Banquet. Nora was also a member of the Broadmoor USTA Ladies Team that represented the state of Colorado to the 2008 National C’ships at the 4.5 level. She finished the 2008 season with a state ranking of #2 in Women’s singles and #1 in Women’s Doubles. Nora is an IFPA certified Sports Conditioning and Tennis Specialist and Personal trainer and recently completed her certification with the IKFF as a Kettlebell Teacher.

The Ranch Country Club welcomes Nora to the tennis staff.

Ryan Walker, USPTA

Junior Program Coordinator


BIO

Ryan started teaching at the Ranch while attending the University of Colorado at Boulder.  Ryan was formerly ranked #1 in Boys 18s singles and doubles in the Wyoming District of the ITA.  Before attending CU, Ryan played collegiate tennis at the University of Southern Colorado where he played #3 singles and #3 doubles for two years.  Soon after Ryan began full time as the Junior Program Coordinator here at the Ranch in 2005.  Ryan has led twelve USA Junior Teams to the Colorado District Championships.  Two of those teams won the Colorado District Title.  Ryan is currently ranked 7th in the Colorado Men's Open division.  He brings with him an enthusiasm and love of Tennis that is refreshing and contagious!
